BKF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Bermuda Karate Federation's (BKF) Executive Committee is dedicated to leading, managing, and administering all activities of the organization. This includes developing and implementing programs aligned with the directives and standards set by the Pan American Karate Federation (PKF) and the World Karate Federation (WKF).
The Executive Committee is composed of the President and at least eight members, including five permanent representatives from local dojos and professional bodies. These permanent members contribute valuable insight and expertise from their respective areas, ensuring the BKF's activities remain relevant, effective, and inclusive.
Through strong and visionary leadership, the Executive Committee strives to uphold the values of karate and advance the mission of the BKF. Their work fosters a supportive community where every member is valued and has the opportunity to grow, refine their skills, and achieve their full potential. The Committee is committed to transparency, accountability, and maintaining open lines of communication with all BKF members. Feedback and suggestions are welcomed, as the Committee continuously seeks to improve and enhance the organization's programs and activities.

At the heart of karate's technical excellence in Bermuda is the Shihankai, a council of senior masters tasked with preserving the traditions, standards, and integrity of karate. The Shihankai serves as the ultimate authority for overseeing Dan rank certifications and the technical development of karate practitioners across Bermuda. Their collective wisdom ensures that karate in Bermuda adheres to the highest international standards while fostering discipline, respect, and excellence. The Shihankai works closely with the Executive Committee to guide karate’s growth on the island, providing invaluable expertise and mentorship.

THE BKF FOUNDERS
About the BKF Founders: Trevor and Nigel Williams
The Bermuda Karate Federation (BKF) was founded by twin brothers Trevor Williams and Nigel Williams, both 7th Dan Black Belts in Shotokan Karate. Their decades of experience and unwavering dedication have made them pillars of the karate community in Bermuda.
Trevor Williams is known for his strategic leadership, helping establish systems for karate development and aligning Bermuda’s karate community with global standards, including the World Karate Federation (WKF). His focus on creating opportunities for Bermudian karateka has significantly contributed to the sport’s growth.
Nigel Williams is celebrated for his patient, methodical teaching style and international training experience in Europe and Japan. He combines traditional and modern techniques to ensure karate in Bermuda remains authentic and progressive.
Together, Trevor and Nigel have built the BKF into a respected organization that fosters discipline, respect, and excellence while providing opportunities for karateka to thrive locally and internationally. Their shared vision continues to inspire the next generation of Bermudian karate practitioners.
